American Institute for Yemeni Studies

The American Institute for Yemeni Studies annually holds two competitions for fellowship programs supporting research on Yemen: one for U.S. citizens, presently limited to countries other than Yemen, and one for citizens of the Republic of Yemen.

Competition for U.S. Scholars

Eligibility

This fellowship is open to U.S. citizens who are enrolled as full-time graduate students in recognized degree programs or who are post-graduate professional in any discipline. Collaborative or group projects are also invited. Projects are not normally funded above $6,000.

Competition for Yemeni Scholars

AIYS supports Yemeni scholars through small grants for research.

Eligibility Citizens of Yemen who are enrolled as full-time graduate students in recognized degree programs or who are post-graduate professionals.

AIYS gives grants of up to $2,000 USD for original scholarly research projects in Yemen in any discipline.

The deadline is February 23, 2018.
