The Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), in collaboration with Northern Virginia Community College and Montgomery College’s Global Humanities Institute, is proud to announce the 2020 Going Global, Growing Global Symposium: Fostering International Education and Exchange at Community Colleges.

 

The symposium aims to support knowledge sharing and networking among community colleges in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland engaged in developing global education, study abroad, and international curriculum development opportunities.

 

The symposium will include presentations from administrators, faculty, and students from:

  • Community College of Baltimore County

  • Frederick Community College

  • Germanna Community College

  • Howard Community College

  • Montgomery College

  • Northern Virginia Community College

  • Prince George's Community College

 

PLUS presentations from both private and governmental organizations that support internationalization efforts at U.S. community colleges, including:

  • Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC)

  • National Endowment for the Humanities

  • U.S. Department of Education

  • U.S. Department of State

  • Stevens Initiative

  • AMIDEAST Education Abroad

 

Symposium sessions will include:

  • Best Practices in College Internationalization

  • Best Practices in Growing Study Abroad, Exchange, and Partnerships

  • Resources for Global Education Initiatives

 

Promotional Materials:

Registered participants are also welcome to bring materials (flyers, brochures, etc.) to the event to promote their organization’s global education opportunities or programs. Please contact program organizer Glenn Corbett (corbett.glenn@caorc.org) if you have materials you would like to have displayed.

The symposium is by invitation only. All attendees will also enjoy lunch and a closing reception.
