The Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), in collaboration with Montgomery College’s Global Humanities Institute, is proud to announce the inaugural symposium, Going Global, Growing Global: Fostering International Education and Exchange at Community Colleges.
The symposium aims to support knowledge sharing and networking among community colleges in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland engaged in developing global education, study abroad, and international curriculum development opportunities.
The symposium will include presentations from administrators, faculty, and students from:
Community College of Baltimore County
Frederick Community College
Howard Community College
Northern Virginia Community College
PLUS presentations from both private and governmental organizations that support internationalization efforts at U.S. community colleges, including:
Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC)
National Endowment for the Humanities
U.S. Department of Education
U.S. Department of State
Symposium sessions will include:
Case Studies in Global Education
Scaling Up – Identifying and Addressing Key Challenges
Resources for Global Education Initiatives
Poster Session and Promotional Materials:
Registered participants are also welcome to create posters or materials for display at the event to promote their organization’s global education opportunities or programs. The symposium is by invitation only. All attendees will also enjoy lunch and a closing reception.
