On Tuesday, May 31, Director Professor Ousmane Sene of the West African Research Center (WARC) welcomed a group of graduate students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and from the Faculty of Science at Universite Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) to the center in Dakar, Senegal. Professor Patricia Tang of MIT is presently conducting a summer institute in Senegal for MIT graduate students. The graduate students from MIT and UCAD have been exposed to various facets of Senegalese and American culture during this experience. On Tuesday, May 31, 2005 the students held a very useful afternoon session highlighting various fields of interest under the leadership of Professor Tang at the West African Research Center.
