The Mexico-North
Research Network, in collaboration with the US Department of
State, Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, the Rockefeller
Foundation, the Council of American Overseas Research Centers
(CAORC), the Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives (SCLI),
the US-Mexico Program at the National Museum of Natural History
and the Cultural Institute of Mexico, hosted the IV Forum on
U.S-Mexico Transnationalism and Transnational Communities on
October 27th and 28th. The first day of the forum concentrated
on the themes of Transnational Research and Education and Transnational
Integration and Identity Construction and was followed by a
reception, while the second day served as a showcase for recipients
of the Mexico-North Research Network’s 2004 Transnationalism
Fellowship Program. This is the first year that the forum has
been held in Washington, DC and will undoubtedly strengthen
US-Mexican relations. |
