Dr. Jay Noller, of Oregon State University and a trustee of The Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI), is developing a Preliminary Tsunami Hazard Warning Model for the Cyprus Geological Survey. Professor Noller’s work examines the entire island, and is a project that supports US Diplomatic goals of inter-communal cooperation. On February 2, 2005, he spoke as a guest of the Cyprus Association of Geologists and Mining Engineers on “Tsunamis of the Past and Future in Cyprus”. Dr. Noller was a Fulbright scholar in Cyprus last year.
