American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) and Egyptian Embassy Lecture Stresses Religious Diversity
On Tuesday evening, December 7th, at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, DC, Dr. Robbie I. Samanta Roy delivered lecture to 90 ARCE-DC and Embassy invitees, on the Holy Family’s trip to Egypt. The lecture was co-sponsored by ARCE-DC and the Embassy as part of the Embassy’s Cultural Series. The topic was a special request of Mrs. Fahmy. Following a pre-lecture reception hosted by the Embassy and after welcoming remarks from Ayman Zaineldine, Counselor at the Embassy, and ARCE-DC President Samir Gabriel, Dr. Roy presented an illustrated tour through Egypt tracing the 2000 kilometer route which, according to tradition and folklore, the Holy Family traveled over three years as it fled the persecution of King Herod.
