The Orange County California Chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt presented a public lecture on November 6, 2004, by California State University Fullerton professor Dr. Alan Kaye titled "The Egypt Tourists Seldom See." Over 110 persons attended this program, in which Dr. Kaye discussed current political, economic and cultural conditions in Egypt. In an extensive Question and Answer period following the lecture, Dr. Kaye elaborated on the role of women in Egypt today, and assuaged the concerns of audience members considering travel to Egypt.
