The Tangier American
Legation Museum (TALM) concluded its 6th year of literacy classes
for neighborhood women including English classes and an arts
and crafts program. An Inspector from the Moroccan Ministry
of Education visited the class, spoke with the students, and
reviewed the curriculum and test results. He remarked that
the literacy program at TALM is superior to Arabic language
instruction in many other schools. This activity has made TALM
a partner with the residents of the old city where there is
an absence of social and educational offerings for the adult
population. TALM is the Morocco branch of the American Institute
for Maghrib Studies (AIMS). |
