American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) Celebrates Career of Distinguished Director
The American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) celebrated the career of Dr. Pradeep R. Mehendiratta during a ceremony marking his retirement from the position of Director-General held January 5, 2005 in New Delhi. For more than 40 years, Dr. Mehendiratta provided an invaluable service by preserving the Institute’s purpose as “the continuous traffic of ideas between India and America.” Dr. Mehendiratta will now serve as the Center’s Vice President.

The AIIS hosted the bi-annual Council of American Overseas Research Centers overseas directors' workshop, funded by ECA, in January, 2004.
