The American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) in Amman is currently hosting a training course for the Getty Conservation Institute-World Monuments Fund Iraq Cultural Heritage Conservation Initiative. This course, which is being held during April 2-9, is training eight Iraq State Board of Antiquities and Heritage (SBAH) employees on the use of Global Positioning System (GPS). After completion of the training course, these employees will be better equipped to inventory Iraq's cultural heritage and assess its conditions. For this particular course, ACOR assisted the Initiative by making transportation and housing arrangements for participants and providing computer and lecture facilities.
